A Fairy Spooktacular Halloween
It was a bright sunny autumn morning, Halloween was finally here and it was all go in Erica’s Fairy forest. All the Fairies were up at the crack of dawn and already trying on costumes in Fairy Libby’s Dress Makers Shop.
Fairy Libby must have been up all night sowing and making them all. Each wall was covered floor to ceiling with the most amazing looking costumes from glittery princess dresses to storm trooper costumes to animal costumes like Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh MY!
After the Fairy Friends picked their costumes and put them on, they all jumped in coloured bubbles made for two and it was off to Dempsey’s Den for the annual fairy pumpkin carving competition. Halloween is Hobbit Dempsey’s favourite time of the year because he gets to harvest his prize winning Magical, Perfectly Orange Pumpkins.
Halloween always reminds him of when he was a little hobbit and he would spend hours and hours helping Daddy Hobbit with the pumpkin harvest, it was their favourite thing to do together.
This year’s Pumpkin carving competition was extra special for Hobbit Dempsey because Fairy Princess Erica along with the forest fairy elders choose him as the number one judge.
The fairies arrived they picked their pumpkins, stood by their fairy tables with fairy friendly carving utensils in hand and waited for Fairy Princess Erica to arrive. All the fairies were really excited because there were whispers going around the forest that she was bringing some new special fairies with her that were moving into the fairy forest that very night.
“Here comes Fairy Force One yippee “screamed Fairy Slivermist.
Fairy Force One Landed and out walked Fairy Princess Erica , Fairy Larerica, Fairy North , Fairy 11 and Fairy King Alvin . “Woohoo” said Fairy Raymond and Fairy Pip “you made it and are just in time to enter the pumpkin carving competition”
1, 2, 3 and they were off scooping out the pumpkins and carving funny faces into them. When they all finished and after looking at each pumpkin in great detail it was down to Fairy Princess Erica, Fairy Elder Kathleen and Fairy Elder Norma and Hobbit Dempsey to pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Hobbit Dempsey cleared his throat and announced the winners:
- In 3rd Place for his Man in the moon carved pumpkin is Fairy Jamesy
- In 2nd Place for her Happy Smiling carved pumpkin is Fairy Clodagh
- And in 1st Place with her love heart carved pumpkin is Fairy Layla-Cakes
Fairy Layla-Cakes was presented with a golden fairy trophy and a month supply of her favourite treat Bubble Gum flavoured Candy Floss was whisked off in Fairy Force One to be interviewed by the Fairy Halloween News
Later that evening the Man in the moon put up his Halloween lights, turned on his favourite Halloween song “The Monster Mash “ and all the fairies gathered in the centre of the forest for the Halloween Spooktacular Party.
The Halloween party was a huge success, there was lots of dancing, singing, munching on all the fairy favourites like fairy mini raisins, cheerios, popcorn, chocolate and candy covered apples.
The fairies loved playing games like Fairy bobbing for Apples, Halloween Bingo, Pin the wart on the witch and the favourite of the night which was Fairy Mummy Wrap, this is where the fairies got into teams of 3 and had to wrap fairy toilet roll around one of their team until they looked like a mummy and the team to have it done fastest was the winner.
The best part of the night was when Fairy Princess Erica surprised the fairies with the most amazing sky movie - scenes from the Halloween weekend where projected up in the sky through the stars, the fairy forest opening, Erica’s Queen Mammy’s Speech, the dancing robin, the smiling faces on all the humans that shared the magic of the forest that weekend, the pumpkin carving competition, fairies dancing to the monster mash song, memories that will last a lifetime.
The Halloween Spooktacular closed with a Fairy Fireworks display and the fairies roasted marshmallows on the fairy fire.
