A Place Called Home
Legends say that special woodland areas around Ireland have been inhabited by fairies and magical creatures for thousands of years, just because we can't see them doesn't mean they are not there and this is where our story of Erica's Fairy Forest Begins...
One starry night Fairy Force 1 was spotted flying over a woodland area in Cootehill.
On board was Love Fairy Princess Erica, members of the Forest Fairy Patrol and a very special group of fairy friends. “Are we there yet, are we there yet?" Fairy Layla Cakes screamed with excitement.
Suddenly the sky filled up with a glittering light, so bright that even the man in the moon had to put some sun glasses on.
20 tiny coloured bubbles were released from fairy force one and began to float down in to the fairy forest through the stars.
Each bubble landed one after the other on the forest floor and as each one popped a fairy appeared with a little suitcase in hand.
"We're home" Fairy Princess Erica declared "From this day forth this woodland forest will be known as Erica's Fairy Forest and I, as head fairy and protector of the forest say that all fairies , woodland creatures and humans from all over the world will be welcome here for all time "
The cheers of the fairy friends echoed throughout the forest and off they went to move into their fairy homes.
Fairy Princess Erica made her to the centre of the forest to her fairy home which was in the tallest, majestic, most beautiful tree. With each step she took the whole forest started to light up with fairy lights and pink fairy dust fell like sprinkles from the sky. The forest came alive with sounds of the birds singing and woodland creatures jumping and cheering for joy!
" Our Princess is here!" said Hobbit Dempsey (Grounds Keeper of the forest )
After all the excitement it was time for the man in the moon to turn off the lights and all the fairies to settle down for a night of sweet dreams.
The next morning sounds of the fairy forest bell echoed throughout the forest and this meant it was time for The Big Fairy Picnic Breakfast. All the fairies made their way down lollypop lane, across candy canal, over sugarplum hill to the fairy picnic area.
On each fairy picnic table was a delicious fairy feast of fairy cheerios, mini raisins, blueberry juice and bubble-gum flavoured pancakes which Fairy Layla-Cakes prepared the night before. The fairies ate and drank till their little fairy bellies were full to the brim.
After Breakfast the excitement was in the air, as it was time for Fairy Princess Erica to start the “Give a Fairy a Job” Ceremony, this is where the spirit of the fairy elders match a fairy to a job.
Fairy Princess Erica proceeded to call up each fairy one by one to the Tree of Life where they had to pinch their nose, wiggle their toes, turn around and touch the ground, close their eyes, and press their tiny fairy hands against the tree and when the tree glowed a fairy job and fairy name would appear.
Each fairy was so happy with their fairy forest jobs and off they skipped to start the day!
